Happy Mother’s Day!!!

I wanted to say Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom and to all the Moms out there who read my blog…I am old enough (and smart enough) to realize what a FABULOUS JOB my Mom did raising me!  Not all Moms out there have kids that are old enough or smart enough…so I am standing in for all those kids who don’t know how AWESOME their Moms are yet!

When I was young, I imagined that I would hang out with other adults and tell stories about how insane my Mother was…she made my clothes for crying out loud!  How normal could she be?!?  In these grown up versions of myself, all of my pals would agree that my Mother was the craziest and then we would go appreciate art quietly while sipping adult cocktails.

However, when I told stories about how my Mother embarrassed me by not letting me run to greet my dates at their cars {“My daughter doesn’t answer to a man’s car horn.”} or how she always had to know where I was, who I was with and had the gall to tell me when to be home! People didn’t respond the way I thought that they would…they were impressed.  They thought it was sweet that she made my clothes.

The more I complained, the more they liked her!!!

In the end, I looked like the crazy one!  But, I guess that is kind of the natural way of things…how many teens are talking about how amazing their parents are?  So, to celebrate my Mom, I wanted to share some pics that remind me of her…

PS Touch Review!

I recently purchased the PS Touch app for my iPad. I wanted to let you know why I think that the $10 spent {ok, $9.99} was worth it!

20130424-142325.jpg
1. You may remember my post featuring TentBlogger that helped you get images to use online…well, with PS Touch, they are helping you find them too!

20130424-142547.jpg
When you Add Image, PS Touch gives you a few options…one I’d Google, and you can filter for pics that are open for use. Some with modification and some not. Another great thing, is that PS Touch gives you the links to the original source.

2. Play with it! Put your stamp on it… Then be the super awesome person I know you are & still thank/credit the person that created the original image…

20130424-142931.jpgimage via Rainbow Plasma.

3. Go the extra step, email the creator if you can! Not only are you thanking them, you’re getting an additional ok (because nothing is 100%) and you are letting them know people like their work! You may even strike up a friendship! Or collaborate with each other in the future! BONUS! <3 j

PS – If you go to Rainbow Plasma’s page, you will see that they have requested credit be given or for you to ask for permission to use. Technically, I guess I could just use it, pop in their name for credit & be done. But, I am going to follow up with a message…wouldn’t you want the same?

In suspense?

I had to share this…

NEW Guacamole!

Looking for a new vegetarian / vegan recipe? Try this new guac I made for dinner!

20130424-155148.jpg
I used shrimp with my final product, so it wasn’t really vegan…but you can eat this guac with whatever you like!

My Husband tasted it and said, “I like eating healthy!” <3 j

Pick Your Favorite Polish?

What do you do when you love something, but have too much of it?
Can you have too many pretty things?!?
At what point do you become a hoarder?

These are all questions that I have asked myself recently…I’m going through my nail polish collection and realized that those tiny 0.5 oz. bottles last a lot longer than I thought! I change my nails {fingers & toes} once or twice a week…I used to think that those bottles were too tiny! Now I have a little over 100 bottles {I keep finding more} and thinking, do I really NEED these?

20130420-153505.jpg
Soooo, I am thinking about paring it down to two dozen….that’s realistic isn’t it? I think of all my favorite nail blogs, specifically AllLaqueredUp.com, and wonder what she must have!
While I fret & say goodbye to my little friends, tell me your stories….how many bottles do you have? 200, 20 or just 2? How do you choose which to keep? I’ll be here, reading & sorting….m<3 j

Set your goals!

I have decided to run a 5k on July 20th! Very excited, lets see if anyone will join me <3 j

Creamy Vegan Sauce {and it’s easy}

As you know…if you are following along on Facebook or Twitter…my Husband and I are eating clean this week! I have been creating some new recipes & I had to share this one.

20130418-152522.jpg

20130418-152535.jpg
STEP ONE: Grab walnuts & roasted red peppers….
STEP TWO: Toss them in a mini blender…
STEP THREE: Eat & enjoy your healthy creamy sauce!
Once I tasted it, I immediately thought of how good this would taste on a bun of a sandwich! But I’m not eating bread right now…so you will have to let me know about how it tastes! <3 j

My Etsy Shop!

Yikes!  I put up some things that I had been working on in a new Etsy Shop!  I hope that you like it…I was in such a rush to get things going that I didn’t even use my best pics, just tossed up the first ones that I saw…so there is a little work to be done <3 j

Making improvements on the 99 cent LEDs…

I purchased a few of those super cheap economical LED garden lights…I thought that I could make a little adjustment and get a few more lumens out of ‘em!
I opened them up and painted the underside of the top with silver nail polish, put tin foil on the underside of the next & left the last as is! I feel as though there is a sssssslllliiight amount more light coming from the tin foil LED. Ugh, I will continue to try and get the most for my money…what do you think? Do you have any tips? <3 j
